On dogfighters and guilty pleas
Item: Widdle Mikey "Godfather Dogkiller" Vick is to plead guilty to federal charges.
What makes this story so fookin' funny - not the situation, just the story - is this blurb:
Michael Vick's lawyer said the NFL star will plead guilty to federal dogfighting conspiracy charges, putting the Atlanta Falcons quarterback's career in jeopardy and leaving him subject to a possible prison term.
'Scuse me? Putting it in jeopardy???
Screw that. He's friggin' done. You heard it here first.

No, unfortunately, some team will whore themselves (provided Vick doesn't serve more than 18 months, or so), and hire him when the heat dies down.
Hope I'm wrong, but Head Coaches are, for the most part, like lawyers and hookers. Nuttin' they won't do for cash. (Sorry if I have offended any honest hookers out there in cyberland.)
And most of the fans are, too. If the addition of Michael Vick, former Hotlanta SooperStar, can turn around a, say, 5-11 season, do you honestly think they wouldn't ignore the felony rap?
Human fuckwidgitry is like like human stupidity. Never underestimate it and don't turn your back.
