OK, that's got my bent sense of humor out of the way. To be honest, I'm saddened. She seemed decent. At least the bomber gets dinner in hell.

Here's my play on this Spats.....

IF (and I mean if) President Pervez Musharraf ordered the hit, then it really comes down to a case of "internal politics" like something out of a Tom Clancy spy novel (circa "Sum of All Fears"). Now if it really was Al-Qaeda or some faction thereof, this becomes a regional "Muslim killing Muslims" with an attempt to draw in the US and its allies to start spreading things thinner for the militaries involved -- with the potential being a distractionary maneuver (ala David Copperfield and "watch my left hand, while the right hand gropes your wife")....or rather watch us over in the Mideast while we blow up another bridge in your country.

While the former is certainly plausible and being exceedingly deniable (at least for Musharraf so far), the latter does have the "conspiracy theory" factor going for it. Which means the New York Times and Washington Post should be jumping on that bandwagon any moment now. I wouldn't be surprised to see Rosie O'Blowhard flagellate that it was Bush who ordered the hit.

But what do I know...I'm just stuck out here on the Outer Rim......

President Musharrif didn't order the hit. He's had MANY more opportunities to off her, before now, including the several days she spent under house arrest. Why would he go to the effort to place her under protective house arrest to whack her a month later? It wasn't Musharrif, and it wasn't the Pakistani government. It was al Qaeda and/or the Taliban.

In developing news, it looks like Bhutto wasn't even killed by the stoopid terrorist. Three shots fired, at close range, with a bomb for good measure...and she died of a fractured skull, probably from when she ducked back into the SUV. No one bullet touched her, nor did any shrapnel. Al Qaeda is so incompetent, they need their victims to kill themselves for them.
